Welcome everyone to WWE Summerslam!!! I’m the host with the most…stuff and I’m back to what I do moderately well. Get ready for my signature wit and maybe a few surprises along the way. Ok…there may not be any surprises but it sounded cool.

We start out with an excellent video package that is designed to be a movie trailer. The entrance is by far the coolest entrance I’ve seen for Summerslam.

Jeff Hardy vs. MVP is the first match of the night. Jeff gets the better of MVP in the early going attacking MVP on the outside then rolling him back in and gets a nearfall. MVP tries for an armbar but Jeff rolls through it and responds with his own armbar. Jeff kicks MVP into the corner, backs off then elbows him, throws into another turnbuckle but MVP meets him with a belly-to-belly and gets a nearfall. Nardy now getting pummeled on the ground with punches to the head. Hardy tries to reverse but MVP keeps control with some sort of leg submission. Hardy finally gets to the ropes but MVP remains in control. Jeff now tied into the Tree of Woe, gets hammered a bit and MVP gets a nearfall. Hardy drops down behind MVP, gets a neckbreaker, throws him into the turnbuckle and tries for his turnbuckle kick but MVP catches him. MVP now going for his big kick but Hardy stops him. Russian Leg Sweep and Hardy gets 2. Whisper in the Wind and Hardy goes up for the Swanton but Shelton comes out to for the distraction. Hardy flies on Shelton and takes him out but misses the Swanton. Drive By Kick gets MVP the win.

To the back with Maria interviewing Marella and Beth Phoenix. Marella now has a Unibrow and looks like a total goofball.

Intercontinental/Women’s Championships: Kofi Kingston and Mickie James Vs. Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix. Mickie and Beth start things out with Beth showcasing her and Mickie showing her speed and Mickie gets 2. Santino tagged in the Kofi comes flying in and lays into Santino sending him outside. Kingston does a fake dive to the outside then Santino gets control. Quick tags for Santino and Beth isolating Kingston. Santino with a submission but Kingston fights out as Beth and Mickie come back in and Mickie speed things up. Nice rana from Mickie followed by a top rope press pin that Satino breaks up then gets a DDT for his trouble. Beth blindsides Mickie and powers her down to become the new Women’s Champion and Santino the new IC Champion.

Video for the Twist of Fate DVD set then onto a video for HBK.

HBK is now out with his wife Rebecca. This doesn’t bode well. Due to countless injuries over the years, his doctor suggests he walk away from wrestling and Shawn actually listens to doctor’s advice for the first time ever. HBK now goes over his career and is about to thank everybody when Chris Jericho comes out in a suit of all things. Jericho wants HBK to admit that he is going out because of what he did. HBK calls Jericho vile, selfish and cruel and says that he’ll never be Shawn Michaels. Rebecca and Shawn turn to leave but Jericho turns Shawn around, tries to punch but he ducks and Jericho hits Rebecca. Jericho walks away with Shawn having a “if looks could kill” expression. Refs and security come out to help. Rebecca gets up and they help her out of the ring.

ECW Championship: Mark Henry Vs. Matt Hardy This is the first time I’ve seen the new WWE-ECW Championship belt and I think it sucks. It’s good though since the other title was a sign of the old ECW. We were just told which wrestler was which and I could’ve sworn that Matt Hardy was the big black guy. The only move in the match was Matt hitting the Twist of Fate and Tony Atlas pulling Matt out for the DQ. Atlas and Henry attack Matt but Jeff comes out for the save. A fitting amount of time for a now pathetic “brand”.

World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk Vs. JBL CM Punk takes control in the early goings and gets a nearfall but JBL fights back. Excellent Fallaway Slam by JBL from the second rope gets hims a nearfall. Nice floatover suplex gets JBL another nearfall then throws him around some more and goes for a submission. Punk tries to fight back but JBL applies an abdominal stretch. Punk hiptosses JBL, hits the knee in the corner then goes the GTS but JBL counters with a clothesline and a series of elbows for only a nearfall. Exchange of punches with Punk gaining control with some kicks and gets 2. Punk flies off the top rope but JBL powerslams him for 2. Clothesline from Hell attempt but Punk kicks him hard. Another knee but JBL counters the bulldog and puts Punk on the top turnbuckle and hits a side suplex. Punk has a nasty cut on the back of his head. 2 count for JBL. Punk hits the GTS out of nowhere to retain.

WWE Championship: HHH Vs. Great Khali HHH going for an early Pedigree but Khali is just too strong. Khali with his big 2 handed chokeslam then the vice grip but HHH kicks out of it. HHH tries to sneak up behind Khali on the outside but Khali blasts him then takes him back inside. Khali with a huge legdrop for 2 then goes for a nerve hold. HHH comes off the ropes, hits a knee that sends Khali into the ropes where he gets tied up. HHH tries to take advantage but Khali kicks him. Khali gets out of the ropes and HHH tries for a Pedigree again but Khali backdrops him outside. Khali and HHH back in as Khali gets the vice grip again but HHH fights back again and finally hits the Pedigree to retain.

Video package for Batista and Cena.

John Cena Vs. Batista. Cena showing off how strong he is taking Batista off guard. Excellent suplex by Batista gets him 2 and Cena replies with his own suplex for 2. Sideslam from Batista gets him another nearfall and we get finisher reversals. Batista now applies a Figure Four but Cena gets to the ropes. Another FU attempt but Batista is fighting so Batista gets dumped to the outside. Five Knuckle Shuffle and Batista counters the FU then kicks Cena. Batista powers Cena into the turnbuckle and hammers him then hits a spinebuster. Batista Bomb countered into an STFU. Batista tries to get to the ropes but Cena pulls him back to the center but he finally gets to the ropes. Another FU attempt but it’s countered into a rear naked choke but Cena fights out and gets a mean spear and a nearfall. Cena shows amazing power lifting Batista up for the FU but only gets 2 after a crawl. Cena goes to the top but Batista catches him and hammer up top with Cena getting control but is caught in midair by Batista with a powerbomb but Cena kicks out. Batista kicks him then hits the Batista bomb for the win.

Video package of Undertaker and Edge. Vickie’s laugh in this video is pure gold and I’m sure we’ll be hearing it a lot.

Hell in the Cell: The Undertaker Vs. Edge. A moment of silence for The Undertaker’s awesome entrance in HD. Taker clocks Edge in the head with a stiff kick then takes it out to the cage. Headbutts by Undertaker then he rakes Edge’s head in the cage. Vickie and the rest were watching in the back as Undertaker hit a big legdrop on the apron onto Edge’s head. Edge fights back and clobbers Taker with the steps and Edge has 2 tables brought out from under the ring. Suplex attempt onto the stacked tables but Taker breaks it up but gets throated onto the ropes then Edge clobbers Taker with a chair. Now all we’re missing is a ladder. Edge now setting up a table and there’s the ladder. Not just one but 2! Edge swings and hits a homerun on Taker’s skull twice. Edge puts Taker on the table then climbs on a ladder with a chair and hits Taker. Edge now with another chair but Taker stops the conchairto. Taker then big boots Edge off the apron into the cage. Edge just got kabonged and I could swear it sounded like a gong. Edge just speared Taker through a part of the cage!!! Taker has control on the outside. Taker misses a shot with a monitor but Edge connects and Taker in on the RAW announce table. Edge comes up and spears Taker through the ECW table! Taker is still fighting back and sends Edge back into the ring who hits Taker with a ladder as he comes in. Edge now grabs a camera and clobbers Taker with it but only gets 2. Edge goes for a spear but walks into a chokeslam and gets 2. Last Ride attempt but Edge goes low to block it. Impaler DDT only gets 2. Taker tries for a Last Ride through the tables but Edges sneaks out and hits another spear for 2. Edge gets Taker in the corner and punches him but Taker hits a Last Ride for 2. Taker sets the steps where he wants them, grabs Edge and tries for a Tombstone but Edge counters and drives Taker’s head into the steps and gets a nearfall. Edge now mocking Taker by trying to go Old School but Taker crotches him and chokeslams him through tables! Taker hits Edge with a spear then breaks the camera on Edge’s head. Taker then conchairtos Edge and Tombstones him for the decisive win. Taker sees Edge moving so he gets back into the ring, sets up a ladder, puts Edge onto it, sets up another ladder then throws Edge off the ladder through the ring! Fire comes up from the spot where Edge fell to end the show.

I was very impressed by this show! Just goes to show you that not watching this for a while is a good thing.
